I love cats...only so so with dogs..dogs are a little too "clingy" and excited for me, cats are more laid back about things. I have, with patience, tamed a few wild cats...by feeding them..then sitting still about 20 feet away while they eat...then a little closer, lol...over time...closer....then sitting on the proch while they eat..eventually you touch em and they might freak a little, but they are hooked on the regular food thing by then..after a few good rubs they say "hey, this aint so bad"..next thing you know they are just like regular house born cats.
I somewhat did the same thing with a squirrel once, in the 80's...eventually he would eat from my hand...(you have to keep the hand really flat or better yet, arched back...if you cup your palm at all he will accidently nibble it)...but on occasion, I would make a sudden move and he would jump, Im serious, like 4 feet straight up...that cat jumping in the kitchen reminded me of that, lol.
