How bad do the A's stink?

I just found out that the Boston Red Sox (my boys!) just advanced to meet the New York Yankees.

How many consecutive Round 1 Game 5 losses did the A's suffer in a row, and how far back? Like every year since 2000?

Now did the A's crumble under "pressure", or the did Sox just dominate them in game 5?

The Athletics and the Braves should be banned from the playoffs for conduct detrimental to baseball. At least the As played like they cared. The Braves played like they just wanted to go home and play golf.

I wouldn't say that. At least not in Game 3. If they hadn't made so many stupid base-running moves, they would be facing NY tonight instead. The Red Sox were incredibly lucky.

Not that I'm not psyched the Sox are still in it, though.

Bad enough that they couldn't deliver with no outs (or was it 1 out) and a man on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the 9th! The Red Sox pen really proved itself. Or at least Lowe proved he still has the heart of a closer.

I really hope either the Cubs or the Sox win since my Braves are out. I like both teams and hope one of them gets the monkey off of their backs.

Dave, I really feel bad for Braves fans, all 300 of them. Our Lakewood Blue Claws draw more people to an average game than the Braves seem to muster for a playoff game. And who can blame them for the team's recent performance?

Maybe they should move the Braves some place where the locals won't allow the opposing fans to take over the stadium.

Gee, Terrence, after your performance in the ALDS, now's probably as good a time as any for you to demand a trade.
