Ford Truck Ranger question?
I have a 2003 Ford Ranger XLT model. It has 11k on it and just in the past month and a half it will idle rough first thing when you start it up.It doesn't idle rough like it's going to gonk out.It just idles rough for a minute or so untill it warms up.I noticed it started doing this right after I did an oil change. The truck is suppose to use 20W50 and I put 10W30 in it.Could this be the reason?

Not likely..... unless its really cold there...
Could be a number of things..... pcv valve, moisture in the gas.... bad coils.....

I know it's new but have you tried the 02 censors. This happened to my truck ('97 F150) as well and that was the cause. THey replaced the censors and all was good. Is there a check engine light on your dash?

A friend had the same exact trouble with his and had it back to the dealership twice before they found a bad injector. Have them hook it up to the computer in the morning before it's started for the day. You'll probably have to leave it overnight.

No, the oil would NOT have anything to do with that - but where did you see the 20W50 recommendation?
I haven't even seen any of that for a long time and we DEFINATELY don't stock or use it at the dealership!
In recent years, Ford's trend has been towards thinner oils due to the tighter tolerance engines. Most use 5W20!
As to the rough idle on start-up, I'd suspect fuel first - do you go the same station regularly?
Make it easy on yourself, though - stop in & get it checked, it's under warranty! You paid dearly for that warranty, use it!!
