Old TV Show

Does anybody remember that old TV showMcGeiver? If you do, is the guy who plays the Captain on the TV show Stargate SG1 the same actor?

I have searched the net to find this but either I am not spelling the name right or there really is nothing on the net about the show. Now I know I'm not lunching, this show really did exist, right?

Anyway what I really want is to be able to find a way to purchase a series of the old show McGeiver, like how they are selling the 'All in the Family' - Archie Bunker tapes.

His name is Richard Dean Anderson and he is the same actor in both shows what I mean is he stars in both shows.

Oh I believe the old show was spelled McGyver or something like that.

It was MacGyver, Patty and Selma's (simpsons) favorite show by the way.
A strange connection, my dad was good friends with MacGyver, or as he knew him Richard Dean Anderson, when he was a teenager. He and Loni Anderson (WKRP in Cincinnati fame) are both from Roseville, MN. Loni is a couple of years older than he is though. There really is no point to this as neither one is an accomplished actor necessarily, just interesting.

heh... the only McGeiver episode i can remember.. is the one where he is on the floor of some laboratory.. and some killer robots with lasers are after him.. heh

i guess he ends up using a mirror to make them destroy themselves..
