Many of our fellow Americans and our British allies are spending this coming New Year's Day in defence of our nations Liberties and those of Civilized people everywhere.
Many were called into active service and reported as called.
As we enjoy our homes and families this New Year's Day, let us remember their courage--and their sacrifices.
And perhaps for one moment pause that evening of Celebration to pray in our various Faiths that they return to their homes and to the arms of their loved ones.
The prayer the Poet Robert Browning gave In Memorium to a friend that had died was to hope for "sweeter manners, purer laws" that New Year.
I would hope this for all mankind this coming year.
The new year is always a time to reflect back and remember those who are away from home, as well as those not with us. The passing of the year - puts one more number - on the time that a loved one has been gone -
At this time all of us might recall - how many families have been affected by world events - and recognize the sacrifices those men and women and the families left behind have made for our freedoms.
I really don't know how to say it other than - Thank you
