World's 1st Fully D/L'able Newspaper

Just got through reading an article, Pixels on the Paper, and Paper in Pixels which talks about MetroPDF, the "world's first fully downloadable newspaper, in full print layout (as opposed to mere article reprints), available to everyone on the Web." (the full article is a good read; it also talks about e-paper among other things)

I just downloaded their current and previous issues, and must say we have quite a revolution on our hands. It comes complete with everything a normal newspaper would have (including the ads unfortunately ). All articles are easily accessible via imbedded hyperlinks, all of the content is easily searchable through keywords, etc, easy to use, it doesn't hurt the eyes, and best of all it's in .PDF format.

Download your free copy today: http://metropdf.com/

Hopefully we'll see this as a spark in the newspaper / publication industry, and see others hop on the bandwagon.

I'd prefer it if they just published papers in regular HTML form (As in, just plain text using whatever miscellaneous preferred backend they like)... It'd be a lot easier to develop search tools to search for specific keywords, as well. Plus, I wouldn't have to wait for the Acrobat plugin (or the whole program) to load, either.

My local paper already posts it's major articles on their website anyway.

I know that the Linux folks would cry foul at this but I really like the Zinio reader a lot better. I get PC Magazine online using that format and really like it.

Acrobat reader is great for Documentation but Zinio's layout is much better to me. I really like way the pages turn rather than scroll. It's a much improved format IMO.

Thanks for the post/linkage Jadison.
