The Bum's Rush
He's gone.
He misjudged his audience; this time he wasn't talking to a bunch of dittoheads.

True; I only got up at 5:00, and read the papers rather than TechIMO before posting.
But the second part of the story?

It kills me.
Now I am no ditto head buttttttt! This race card stuff is rediculous.
Virtually every sports commentator I have heard since this story became news has said that the guy is below average as a quarterback. Prior to this story the sportscasters were singing his praises as the next coming. Hmmmm, sounds like Rush's statements were spot on.
He also did not say black athletes were inferior/stupid/ or incapable of being quarter backs. he said that Donovan McNabb was a not as good as he was being touted and that the reason for this was pressure from the media to select substandard tallent in the QB postions in quota like fashion.
Donovan McNabb does not suck because he is black, he sucks because he is not quarterback...
As for the drug thing (now you are talking.)
Now this is an example of someone who needs to reconsider his drug postion.
Of course he is also uniquely qualified to say that they are bad as well.

From Billmon: Quote:
The moral of the story, I guess, is that in America, a dimwit like Rush Limbaugh can go on the air and tell outrageous political lies all day long -- and be amply compensated for it.
But, take the same approach to a subject the public thinks is really important -- like pro football -- and you can get yourself in a world of trouble very fast.

Dimwit. Dimwit. That's the word I was looking for.
Guess the caffeine hasn't kicked in yet.
Yup.
Dimwit's the word.

Now if an African American said the same thing, but about a caucasion, what do you think would be made of it? Nothing at all. African Americans can say almost whatever they want about the white community, but when something happens like this with Rush, all hell breaks loose.

What if someone were to say something like, Quote: |
What I meant is that blacks and Latins take the heat better than most whites, and whites take the cold better than most blacks and Latins. That's it, pure and simple. Nothing deeper than that.
| I tell you, whoever said that would be fired on the spot!!!
