Protests turns violent in Baghdad

Some of the estimated 300 job seekers told CNN's Harris Whitbeck that they arrived at the police precinct to fill out application forms but were asked for bribes and ordered away from the station.

Because they are in charge there. The entire civil administration is being run by Paul Bremer and his people. Marines are crawling all over the place.

If there is corruption in recruitment, the only people who could be responsible are the Iraqi underlings or the Marines who guard (intimidate) everything.
