A new service has been launched in Vienna, we can now pay for parking using the cell phone. You simply register with the service and an account is created. Then, when you need parking, you send a text message to a certain number and you are automatically registered in the database. You can choose the time you need, up to 120 minutes.
The authorities can then check to see whether people have paid by using a wireless GSM hand held device.
