why would an assembler have problems implenting this branch instruction?

Code:
here:     beq $t1, $t2, there
...
there:   add $t1, $t1, $t1

dunno, I didn't do so well in assembly '
helps if you actually study, go figure

ha, just thought it wasnt worth putting in the coding forum

no one ever responds to my programming Qs in the coding forum anyway.

yeah i am doing pretty good in assembly, i just dont get that Q, for some reason it will have trouble, but rewrite it in another way. i dunno how.
