Make sure it's in a humidified environment during the winter months. Dry air can raise h@!! with the glue joints and cause the top to shrink. Don't over do it, but a room humidifer kept where it's stored is a big help.
You do, however have one new problem to deal with. People tend to keep guitars like a nice D-28 pretty much forever. You get to decide who you want to leave it to.
