George Bush will be relieved to know that James Traficant
is no longer threatening to run for President.
(That was a close one.)

I feel sorry for this guy Marcus Belk, manager of the "Draft Traficant for President 2004" campaign from Jersey City, N.J.
I mean I really feel sorry for this guy.

I know I'm relieved. He posed a serious threat to Bush's re-election; possibly the best candidate the Democratic party could have fielded against Bush! |

No, the candidate Bush needs to watch out for is Wesley Clark.
Not Trafficant.
Bush will face serious competition from not only Clark but from Howard Dean.
It's anybodys guess right now how the public will rate Bush's dismal handling of Iraq.
But if Bush were a Company, I'd sell short.

Well, Bush's approval ratings feel below 50% last week and are holding this week below 50%. In 2000, the vote was relative 50/50. So, half the 3 million people working in 2000 are now unemployed. Do you think they are going to vote for Bush? I don't think the armed forces are going to be Bushies either.

I find that near 50% approval rating to be astonishing. Just goes to show how many will approve of a president, no matter what he does. "He's our President, and it's my patriotic duty to support him." Off course, there's the other edge of the blade: those who did support his actions until we get the bill...I don't even know what to think of those folks.
News flash: patriotism is "love for or devotion to one's country" [Webster] , not blind obedience in a leader. Of course, if you're a part of a tyranical country, then you're going to support a tyrannical leader. But that's not what I believe my country should be.
Ahhh, but you guys already knew that.
Tyrant:
1 a : an absolute ruler unrestrained by law or constitution b : a usurper of sovereignty
2 a : a ruler who exercises absolute power oppressively or brutally b : one resembling an oppressive ruler in the harsh use of authority or power
[Webster, again...such a silly short fella] |
