The House approves legislation aimed at ensuring the national do-not-call list goes into effect as scheduled next week so consumers can block many unwanted telemarketing sales pitches. The Senate is preparing to vote on the issue.

I assume Bush will sign it; he probably wouldn't like to alienate 51 million voters unnecessarily.
