From Haaretz:

The signatories to the letter wrote they would
refuse to take part in aerial attacks on
populated Palestinian areas in the territories.
"We, both veteran and active pilots, who have
served and who still serve the state of Israel,
are opposed to carrying out illegal and immoral
orders to attack, of the type Israel carries
out in the territories," the letter states.
"We, for whom the IDF and the air force are an
integral part of our being, refuse to continue
to hit innocent civilians ... The continued
occupation is critically harming the country's
security" and moral fiber, it added.

A good sign that more people are speaking out. Small step in the right direction IMO.

Won't make any difference. Enough terrorists in both Israel and Palestine to make up for these people.

I don't think this is any step in any direction.


The statement they make is virtuous and positive but will be drowned in the strident terrorist threats both sides continue to make against each other.

Saw it in the New York Times this morning.

It's not the first time that members of Israel's military have refused to perform duties they consider illegal under international law; many have refused to serve in the occupied territories.

Hmmmm,

On initial glance on your words I was inclined to agree with ya, buttttttt:

being that 27 pilots is probably the minority of pilots, my guess is that some hamas members have forsaken violence and turned in their suicide vests over the years.
