People not washing hands after using bathroom

http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2003/09/15/hand_wash030915

This is going to make me think twice about shaking hands.

man skanky women out there in california.

Usually women are more into the hygene thing than men but in SF they seem to be extremely nasty.

On the food for thought thing. Norwalk is a fecal matter borne illness AFAIK. I wonder if you can catch SARS or Norwalk from a male who does not wash up after finishing a standing up trip to the rest room.

Then there is the cross contamination thing. People who wash up religiously but touch the knobs prior to washing their hands to wet them down before soaping then touch the knobs again to rinse and turn them off (can you say contaminated). Now you quickly wash your hands and end up worse off then when you started.

Personally I am perty good bout my bathroom hygene but I usually strip some paper off the roll to open the door and to dispense more paper for drying my hands. I try not to be in contact with any of the surfaces.

But I will tell you this I will trust what ever is growing on my dong before I trust what is growing on those airport sinks.

When I use a public restroom, I use the paper towel to open the door on my exit. This way I don't have to touch the knob of the unclean 20%.

I am saying that the innocent fellar who only pee's and washes up is likely to get cross contaminated by touching the knobs to turn off the water and dispense the paper towel.

So you go from having relatively harmless microbs to the more destructive ones found in heavier waste.

What about those nice bathrooms with no paper towels just the blow drier.

The ones with the IR sensors all over are the best. But I use my feet to flush the urinal and can but have not figured out how to open the stall with out touching the knob. Sink and towel despensors are tricky as well. order is everything.

Disgusting.

I over do it with hygene, but I think it's better that way. I'm like MTAtech and more. Drives some of my friends nuts

another nasty thought after using the restroom do you pick up you bag and bring it over to the sink?

Do you wash the handles and wheels after washing up your hands.

I over do it as well. I tend to wash my hands before relieving myself, as I don't want those filthy paws touching my sparkly jewels! And then again afterwards of course.

What I don't get is buffets and the health department. They made it so you have to get a fresh plate for each visit to the buffet so you don't wind up transfering germs & viruses from your mouth to your plate, then to the untensil used to get the food, then to the food on the bar.

But that's insane! It's completely half-baked. Far more germs are transferred through buffets in another way, which seems to be of no concern to the health department. YOUR HANDS. They touch your mouth, your money, doors, toilets, and areas where the sun doesn't normally shine just to name a few. Yet these hands are not required to even be washed before using the utensils at the buffet. And we know how rarely people wash their hands in the masses (if you don't, read the link from what it sounds like).

[shakes head as if an sco story was just read]

That's encouraging, ClubMed, but counterintuitive to American perceptions of Europeans.

I should also point out that studies have shown half of those who say they wash their hands after using the bathroom are lying. So which one of you guys is it?

Ahhh!

If society gets too clean then we wont be able to fight the common cold.

spread germs it keeps the immunity exercised.

Besides the improper use of the anti-bacterial soaps and hand cleansers are creating super bugs which can't be cleaned.

with in the next 50 years you probably wont be able to get rid of these resistant bugs even in the hospital before an operation.
