I Quit My Job...
Now I'm not sure what to do.
Honestly, coming out of my 18month college w/ an Associate Degree now I only have 6 months experience under my belt. I quit because it was either Quit or eventually get fired.
I wasn't working up to their potential. I wasn't "precise" enough. I was never a precision graphic artist. I always work in the abstract even tho precision is good to know I have no job now due to my lack of insight and work ethic. I guess I got spoiled or something. I feel kinda bad now, but I was really getting more depressed by the day sitting here doing the same exact thing day in and day out.
I'm not sure if I did the right thing by quitting. Perhaps if I tried harder I coulda stayed. It's boring graphics for litigation graphics doing slavework for attorneys and I got tired of it. I felt like my creativity was draining. Now I'm sitting here at my desk 2 weeks minus 1 day away from having no job. The more I think about it the more upsetting it is. I've been to monster, hotjobs, careerbuilder and cant find a thing in my area. I have to go back to college and I just killed my only source of funding.
This is quite a sad and/or depressing predicament I put myself into. I think for a moment in time I saw myself as too good for this job and slacked off because it was so boring and repetative. Now I look back and realize that I just shot myself in the foot because even if it was boring, monotonus, depressing and uncreative it was something. The more I look at it the more I realize how easy it really was and due to being an ass I just blew it off as useless work thinking I could get something better. Now the realization is hitting that even tho I was top of my class with a 3.9gpa multiple awards and honors there are no jobs to make use of that for me and I'm going to be home doing nothing again, not being able to afford anything again feeling just like I did getting out of college.
Man.......today is not a good day.

If your weren't happy with the job and they weren't happy with you it was a good move. I quit my last job for similar reasons. It only took me a week to find a new job. I'm much happier and making a lot more money. Good luck on your job search.

the is a rule when you are tired of your job, get another one before leaving the one you have, that way you will get still your checks until you find a new job.
But man dont be depressed think about it as challenge, we have good times and bad times, only try to learn from them... and keep you eyes open.... |

Seriously, I do not know your full situation, but you should consider going into the National Guards. You will get school paid for and you make some extra money. It isn't for everyone, but it seems that the payoff is worth the work.

have to say i agree with Droppy here.
Have a friend who signed up with reserves just to pay for school and he's off to Iraq come Oct. 17th.
not worth it if $ is reasoning.
But anyway, as stated if your job gets stale and you start hating going to it, better for all to get out. You'll be happier somewhere else.
Good Luck!!

Thanks Guys,
Your the good guys to whine to. Get some moral support and reasoning. Here, check out my resume and gimmie some constructive criticism on it.
Edit: I just realized all my personal addy and stuff is on there and I remembered never to post that stuff blatantly online but who cares, it's not like anybody is desperate enough to stalk me here....now if it was the Planetside forums on the other hand...

I think your resume looks good...
But You need to have a portfolio website with your best work on it..
It's standard nowdays for Multimedia people...
Many employers want to see the work right away......
