We had a nasty storm blow through here.
Faired ok though.
My trees gave their all defending my house.
The soldiers stood fast as the winds battered them.
The first tier of swamp maples and gum trees fought the good fight. But their roots gave way in the first 3 hours of the attack.
The pines fought a better battle with low casualty rates. However a few of them with only minutes left were spared by the timely exit of the storm. They stand there battered and leaning with their nearly dead bodies leaning toward the house. It seems a shame to have to cut them down after such a valiant effort.
Clean up has taken the better part of the past 4 days with my nights spent out trying to bring cell sites back on air.
My fire pile was built up to approximately 14 feet high and about 8 foot radius. full of the corpses of those fallen soldiers which hit my lawn 7 trees in tight cluster all fell brushing my kids swingset.
Still have about 5, 30 year growth pines which must be removed from the from around the half acre clearing near my house.
Faired perty well all things considered.
Side note with 90 mph gusts hitting the tree tops, the wiffle ball in my back yard attests to the battle my trees went through defending my property. I do not think it moved 5 feet through the whole storm.
