Duluth Air Show

I went to the Duluth Air Show yesterday. Always a good time. Anyway, I took a few shots I felt the need to share with you:

The highlight of the show for is the takeoff of the Blue Angel's C-130, Fat Albert, using JATO. Quite impressive. Unfortunately, no pictures as I was doing video at the time.

Nice. Is Duluth an ANG base now? I heard the Air Force base closed a few years after my dad was transfered to Tyndall AFB, Panama City, Fla.

Honestly, I do not know the history of the air base up here. I actually thought that they have always been ANG up here. Were they a full Air Force base at one time?

Yes Waferdog. I grew up on Air Force bases all over the U.S. My dad was stationed in Duluth from 1968 to 1972. The Airforce at Duluth were in the old Air Defence Command and flew the Convair F106's. The ANG was located across the flightline at the time and flew the Convair F102.

And I missed it? DAMN WORK! Not only do I get screamed at by my boss, find out my CPU is dead...I miss ANOTHER airshow!
