Outdoors Apache Problems

<rant>I am soooooooooooooooo sick of apache. Been using it since 1999, and screwed with the source code a couple of times. Tonight is the last straw. I cannot get the users directive to work (http://rhd.dyndns.org/~user) and, a virtual host container won't work either. Somehow, writing the words "VIRTUAL HOST" & "CONTAINER" on paper, then tearing it in half and putting it into a container will make it work better. I only got it working once, then it never worked right since. (Apache 1.3.9 is only when it worked)
</rant>

now that my rant is over, can anyone recommend a different webserver? I could put IIS 5.0 back on, but I feel like trying something FREE. No 80 million dollar webserver. Free and useable. I want it to be able to support php/mysql/perl/exe executables etc. Equipped, not stripped.

If I can't find anything, then I will go to IIS 5.0. Apache has thrown it's final straw at me. And no, I'm not an idiot when it comes to computers. I don't need to call aol, crying, and have my hand held. Just fed up with software that doesn't work right!

Thanks for helping me

Dane

We don't allow cursing of any type. Replacing a vowel with an * does not make a word 'safe' to use. Please refrain from using such language in the future. Please also see the FAQ if you are not familiar with the forum's rules.

I have edited your post so as to make it more friendly-like. Please don't make us have to do it again. Thanks.

All I know is, when someone like me thinks you have no class and no taste (judging by message title and much of the content) then you are in pretty bad shape my friend.

Although as an Art Bell fan I guess you can't be all bad.

Sorry outpatient. I was out of patience with apache. It gets pretty annoying for me sometimes. I am not AOL Crippled, just puzzled why apache worked well one time, then slid down hill quick.

Thanks for the suggestion Renesis. I'll give it a try.
