<rant>I am soooooooooooooooo sick of apache. Been using it since 1999, and screwed with the source code a couple of times. Tonight is the last straw. I cannot get the users directive to work (
http://rhd.dyndns.org/~user) and, a virtual host container won't work either. Somehow, writing the words "VIRTUAL HOST" & "CONTAINER" on paper, then tearing it in half and putting it into a container will make it work better. I only got it working once, then it never worked right since. (Apache 1.3.9 is only when it worked)
</rant>
now that my rant is over, can anyone recommend a different webserver? I could put IIS 5.0 back on, but I feel like trying something FREE. No 80 million dollar webserver. Free and useable. I want it to be able to support php/mysql/perl/exe executables etc. Equipped, not stripped.
If I can't find anything, then I will go to IIS 5.0. Apache has thrown it's final straw at me. And no, I'm not an idiot when it comes to computers. I don't need to call aol, crying, and have my hand held. Just fed up with software that doesn't work right!
Thanks for helping me
