Senior Prank!

Well, it's not my senior prank, per se, but it is something the school won't like me doing, and nobody or their property gets hurt. It's that the ultimate prank? First I have to set the scene.

My freshman and sohpmore year, we had off-campus lunch. It was a happy time. Then came Junior year where they closed it on us. This wouldn't be THAT bad except our school houses over 2,100 students this year and we are built for 800. Yep, those figures are right; welcome to California.

So now that is it OVERLY crowded, here comes Senior year. The school had a vote at one of the school borad meetings (students weren't allowed to vote) they decided to remove ALL candy, chips, and sodas from campus. We USED to have 5 vending machines on campus, now there is one. The only reason it is there is because it's privatly owned by some teachers.

So now that the campus os completley crowded and not only does the school food suck, but there isn't any PRE-packaged things now! Nothing to save us! Here is the kicker, too. They finally added Gaterade, for $1.50, and water for $1.00. It's comeplete extorsion and I can't stand it.

Okay, now for the topic of this thread. Since the school stopped selling candy chips and sodas, guess what I want to do? That is right sell candy, chips, and sodas.

This became a lot harder than it sounds. There is a law somewhere that says no student or staff can sell anything on campus. Well, that sucks. We spend 4 weeks at lunch trying to find ways to sell (my friends and I). We thought about making a club, fundraising, teacher funded activity, trying to sell off campus, businees licenses, the works. I finally came up with an idea, and as far as I can tell, it is totally legit.

You see, all my friends say, "Just sell it out of your backpack" Or soemthing like that. I tell them to think of this: There are 2,100 kids on campus. Half are in Junior/Senior lunch. Out of those how many do you think go and buy sodas from that one vending machine. We counted about 120 kids. How many buy gaterade/water. From the one line (out of 7) i watched it was about 14 gaterades and 18 waters. That is 150 kids. I want this to be MASS scale. I want all 150 kids to come to ME, not the school.

The vending machine sells sodas for $.65. I will sell mine for $.50. No one will go to the vending machine anymore.

Ok, that is the plan, but it is still illegal. How do I plan to do it?

Ever seen PBS? Public Broadcasting Station? Well, they are publically funded and they way they get money is by asking for people to donate money, and then by giving them wierd prizes at different levels. A t-shirt for the $50, TV for the $100...ect.

Well, it is legal to GIVE stuff to people on campus. It will never be illegal to GIVE people anything. It is alos legal to ask for donations on campus. You have to get vice or princible's approval to ASK for donations, but that shouldn't be a problem.

Once I get his sig: We set up a booth, asking for donations. Our cause will be something like "Send me to college!" We except any amount of donation. If the donator gives a donation of 50 cents or more to the cause, they recieve a free soda as a thankyou gift.

Well, I posted this to ask you if, with everydoby vast knowledge, it is legal. Is there anyway they can touch me? Becuase I know as soon as I start this, they will try to shut me down, and I want to able to tell them, "Hey, can't touch me. This is legal."

I hope it is. Rememeber I'm not asking you if it's RIGHT or whatever. Every adult I talk to just says "You can't do that!" and doesn't give me a reason. I need someone to say it is legal or not.

Thanks a bunch.

so far the most evil 2 senior pranks i have seen was:

1. 500 tiny white lab mice were poured into the halls just before lunch bell

2. 4 white rats with a number painted on each rats back in this order, 1, 2, 3, 5

after catching all 4 rats, they searched in vain for the "4th" rat for days.

however in response to your question, do yourself more justice, setup a credit system where in you keep track of all money that a certain person has given you, before school, and then when they "purchase" something, credit is deducted from their account. So you've never actually sold anything, you just traded "credits" for goods.

this way you don't lose any money either.

Why not set up "box lunches", letting the students make up their own requests and sell them to them in a bag before school.

Do it across the street, off campus and see what law they throw at you. Let the local newspaper know what a nice enterprising young person is doing, especially if you are donating the profits to some warm and fuzzy charity!

Mouse idea is simpler!

If you have to supply more than, say, 50 kids, how are you going to carry it all? 50 cans of soda are tough to hide in a backpack.

We have a 3/4 ton pickup that my friend drives, plus the trunck of my car. We have 3 coolers.

Anyone can if it is legal yet? I was thinking of donating some money to charity. At least some. That will look good for college.

Hi Joker, I have a take on take this. As I understand the 'law' or rules of it, this applies to "junk food" and the like. Why don't you offer a 'legal' alternative that everyone might like. You can probably think of alot of things, but what comes to mind for me are smoothies, malts, granola, fresh fruit, coffee, iced tea, big gatorade jug, or other things. You can incorporate the other ideas with this....

just a crazy idea for ya.......

So, it seems perfectly legal?
