Systems AHH , stupid cat~~ scratched my monitor

Sometime during the night my cat decided to use my monitor as a scratching post..... Now I have these scratch marks on the left side of the monitor. Does anyone know how to maybe buff out something like this.... it's a Sony Trinitron Multiscan E400 19". Works great, wonderful monitor but now it has these annoying scratch marks. If I run my finger tips along the scratches I can just barely feel them. I cleaned it, then tried using a CD-Rom buffing kit, didn't do the trick..... HELP>>>>>>

Then don't do that.

Seriously. What's the problem? They are not scratches in the picture tube are they? If no, then what's the problem? Is the plastic scratched and clawed to a shag-carpet like finish? If no, then we have both already wasted too much time on this unbelievably menial issue. Move on.

The animal probably just wanted some of the attention you give to that big, heated, glowing, bucket of circuits. That's all it is. Hope you didn't scold the kitty. Punishment after the fact is completely useless and cruel since the animal has no idea why it's being scolded.

It's a material item and it seems (by your account) to be a VERY minor issue. Move on. I assume you don't have kids. God I'd really hate to see how you'd act when you find slices of lunchmeat in your DVD player.

IT'S ON THE TUBE.... RIGHT IN MY VIEWING AREA.... If it was on the plastic then I wouldn't care... but it's on the monitor TUBE (FACE) itself.....

I found this... wonder if it would work: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....oryId=cat08042

Oh. Apologies then.

I'd be very very careful about anything you do to the tube. Even before using something like that, I'd try to find other Sony owners or even see if Sony themselves can offer any advice.

If you take the wrong solution you could very well make it much worse.

Your cat scratched GLASS?

Fear for your life! Don't worry about the monitor.

looks to be more like he scratched the Glass surface: High-contrast antireflective coating on the glass.... definitley claw marks.....

Ah, that makes more sense. Only thing I can think of is to clean it very well and hope it minimizes the amount you notice it.
