Math Problem
I need to make an equation (if possible) for the data:
hole # Score
1 118
2 113
3 115
4 110
5 112
6 107
7 109
8 104
and so on. i know the patern is +5, -2, +5, -2
but i cant figure out an equation

Well, first off if the equation is in sequence with the hole number, then it's [-5,+2]
It that the direction it needs to go?

ummmm yeah..
i need to plug in any x value (hole #) and return with the proper y value (the score)
but since its not linear im not really sure what to do.
i know i could take the linear interprelation, but i was curious if there was a way i could get a formula

s=((4^q)+1) +y-int
q is 1 if the number is even and 0 if the number is odd.
will give a slope of 5 or 2 respectively.
i can get the whole thing, but how do i figure out q?

Hmmm...I just don't know
I know that (Z + 5)(Z - 2) = 0 will give you the two possible answers...but is that even relevant in this case, as you need to have Z reliant on X, and then somehow produce Y...
So how do we go from [1,3,5,7...] to Z = +2
or is that even the right attack plan...
0, or relative to "ground[g]", would be 116
then 1 would be g + 2, y = 118
x = 2 = g - 3, y = 113
x = 3 = g - 1, y = 115
x = 4 = g - 6, y = 110
x = 5 = g - 4, y = 112
yeah, I know, that notation is crap...I know I should know this, being in calculus...but my mind is a blank.

okay the working equation i have is:
s = score
h = hole #
RD = Round
INT = Interger
S= -1.5h + (116 + RD(h/2 - INT(h/2)) * 3.5)
works, and my teacher likes it...
guess ill be passing algebra 2 advanced.
