I'm sure the swedish have been lobbying a lot of bbc to get something like this through. https://lrdlnx.iki.fi/~laardi/BBC-Sweden.jpg
The finnish&swedish thing goes back to the time the crown ruled over here... Alot of disgruntlement because of that, and because we're forced to study swedish.
Personally I don't have a lot against sweden, only that they seem overly proud.
(this is a lame attempt to make this post not thread-crap)
What's with the pippi långstrump hair of ikea workers? |

so true...ikea needs to leave the earth
uuuhhhh!!!!!!!!! my frustration is so overwhelming at this moment i am reaching to the far ends of the world....
not only is the ikea website unworkable, the staff absent of any brain cells, and the management unhelpful...the collective ikea "they" seem to take pride in their lack of ability to perform any sort of decent customer service option or think outside their limited policy box! all in all a 'rat-in-the-maze' degrading, mindless experience destined to produce internet rants, letters to the editor, and mass exit......
no wonder nordstrom has been so successful...in addition it's a travesty that one is unable to shop in a store that has their sense of environmental responsibility and seemingly lofty goals due to their disgraceful business practices!

I'm not too fond of their furniture but some of their stuff is decent and if you're on a budget you can furnish a big area for very little cash.

IKEA may suck but they're a few levels above places like Wal-Mart, Target, Fred Meyers ect. Often cheaper as well for higher quality furnature.

IKEA Kitchen cabinets SUCK!!!
I purchased and installed an entire IKEA kitchen cabinet for my home. I would never, ever recommend it to anyone because of the lack of support and difficulty of assembly. This is not a project for the amateur home owner because of the high level of carpentry skills required to complete the project. The store in Elizabeth, New Jersey is infamous for giving you the wrong parts and wrong advice, requiring several trips back and forth before you have all the right hardware and components. The most frustrating problem occurred when I tried to install their "Emsen" stainless steel sink. I learned later that it is a custom size sink unique to IKEA, and that size was discontinued six months after I purchased it. That means I can never purchase another same size sink if I ever scratch or dent the original sink. To make matters worse, the sink comes with metal clamps to fasten it to the laminated counter top but the IKEA sink cabinet is too small, so I can only install the supplied clamps on two of the four sides. IKEA's main customer service department does not respond to voicemails and they make it impossible to get in touch with anyone at the corporate level. I would call my entire IKEA experience a DISASTER!!!

Ikea is the best! <~~ thats if you pay attention, read, and follow instructions people!! Most of the stuff comes with instructions, model numbers/part numbers and in the end you can't blame an Ikea employee for giving you the wrong item/s because it is still up to you to look at what you're buying!! (It's like buying a car and not looking under the hood).
Now qualitywise the things there are not always great, most stuff is not solid wood. Some people are surprised how cheap or flimsy certain furnitures are from Ikea, BUT who shops for furniture online anyway?!!? You need to see and feel the quality of any furniture and you can't do that online (and Ikea's online selection is not even half of what they have in store).
Now, I don't always have the smoothest transactions with Ikea myself. I bought a bookcase recently and one of the wood plates were damaged. I went back to Ikea, took a number and though the waiting was about 45min-1hr, a customer service rep told me that I bought the last piece so there is no extra parts for replacement, so I suggested that they get the piece off the display floor, he came back 5 minutes later from the display floor with a undamage piece and I went home happy.
Nice and simple.
