How do I derive this?

How can I derive 2^x with respect to x?

You derive down to Radio Shack and get yourself a calculator. (sorry couldn't resist)

you mean what is the derivative of 2^x?

the derivative is 2x

the derivative of x^n = nx^(n-1)




...you're sick OuT...no other word for it

It's not 2x.

Put 3 in and you'll see something is up.
2^3 = 8 (original line)
2(3) = 6 (your tangent)
dy/dx (3) = 5.54.....(calculator tangent)

I think the calc knows what it's doing. The problem is that I don't know what it's doing .
