i took a few pics at work today and heres one of a step footing i laid out and helped form up.the steps are around 2 foot rise and run. we are building an addition on a llibrary at Michigan Tech University.

I HATE itty bittle little steps where you want to skip like THREE steps to actually make any progress!
There's some steps at work that are like 3 inches high.. but each step is like 3 feet deep so I gotta go up EACH step and cant' skip any

if you heard some of the conversations(yelling sessions??) that go on at this jobsite,you would think you were at a biker bar at closing time.

let me elaborate a bit.

those are step footings. they are 8 feet wide and three feet thick. once footings are completed,16 inch thick 16 foot tall concrete walls will be poured on top of the footings to make up the foundation of the building.

all those rods sticking up are concrete reinforcing rods(aka REROD) used as a stiffener inside the concrete walls.

The pic looks so funky to me, almost like an illusion. The steps look the size of the Hover Damn or it could be that its 230 am and Im tired.
