Animate the Avatar

Time to show some ignorance...

How do you animate the avatar. And I mean all the steps. From creation to showing it here.

For some reason I figure I should know this, so my cheeks are a little red.

No snickering...please.

Its just an animated GIF
You can create one in like Paint Shop Pro animation studio.

Dont worry I dont know how to do it past that

I'm sure there are some shareware/freeware tools for doign it as well.

im not sure, but my guess would be that since the avatars can be .gif format that you could just use an animated gif file. you can make your own using many different programs available on the internet. try download.com to find one.

hope that helped!

If you ask real nice, one of the members may help you animate it. Cyclone2 animated mine.
I need to learn how to do animation using Phtoshop. (Paintshop Pro too!)

Atomic Rooster ,

If you is animated, how come you are not doing a jig, or hopping at least ?
And what's with the arms lieing still, the head not turning, and doing "the Monkee" or at least the "Frug" ?

Just a helpful suggestion from deD G

The arms would be funny to move, but don't think his head can turn

It'd be like painting a face on an egg, and then "turning" its neck

CRACK lol

Thanks for the suggestions Doogie. But I just wanted some subtle animation to my avatar. I didn't want his arms and legs flailing about like he was some kind of spazz!

(Allthough, it does sound kinda funny once you think about it!)

Moving body parts is a lot more difficult than other animations. You'll notice that mine is really just transitions, not actual motion. BTW, mine was done in Paint Shop Pro.
