What's A Good Electric Shaver?

I need to get a new shaver. I got my eyes on a Braun Flex Xp 5614: http://www.braun.com/na/products/sha...xp/models.html

Anyone know of any good ones? I dont need none of that sissy auto cleaning system junk either

I think electric shavers are no good. Nothing beats a Mach 3 Turbo and good quality gel.

But if you is set on an electric one, Barun is reputed to be the best.

I use the Phillips ones with the three rotating blades. Tried a Braun one and it didn't feel as nice.

Just stay away from Remington, IMO. The last one of them I tried cut my face up.

Cheers
Mick

I have never used one of those rotary kind that worked very good. Those foil ones are alway great though.

My wife gave me a Norelco portable 2 years ago at Christmas and it has served me well, I don't use it every day, just when late for work and shave in the car . Clean the blades every now and then and keep the battery charged.

Took a first shave the other day using a Mach 3 Turbo. It's always easy to tell when my friends have shaved because they have cuts all over their faces. I was quite pleased to not cut myself. That pivoting head seemed to do the trick. I might switch to electric later on, though. I got some razor burn even though I did use the Aloe shaving cream.

Electric razors are bad. mmmm,k.

I use Bic disposable, single blade, gel shaving lotion. Always shave with the grain first, then come back over it with a cross-cut movement (diagonally with the grain) to get a bit closer. Never shave against the grain. That goes for electrics too. Even though electrics pretty much thrash your face anyways.

Those rotating blades are worthless. They are about as hit and miss as a blind man plucking feathers from a chicken.

Personally, I shave as little as possible because I get beat up by electrics, disposables just don't "cut" it, and the Mach 3's kick serious folicle, but get expensive quick ( if I 1 blade more than 2x I'm done for ).

I'll stay shaggy and kissable instead of sharp and scratchy.

I've got a dual metal-mesh panasonic shaver with a slotted deal that goes back and forth between them and it has a pop out beard/mustache trimmer...

Works great, even when I've got about 1/4" worth of growth going on .

It was about 65$, but you don't have to replace screens but once a year, and the internal cutting head every other year.

Sam

EDIT: it looks similar to this one:
