The Presbyterian minister who murdered an abortion doctor
is scheduled to be executed next week. (And yes, I'm still absolutely opposed to the death penalty, in case you were wondering.) |

I agree he should be put to death. Doesn't matter why you kill, you kill. I'm opposed to abortion, but that guy went over board.

It's ironic that he's against killing the not-yet-born but will kill a born person.

I agree with implexant. I am pro-life in all regards. I don't think anyone has the right to kill. Of all people, this minister should have known that. I hope he gets a stay of execution. I also hope our children get a reprieve from their being murdered as well. We have already murdered way too many children. It seems hypocritical, that we can sentence one man for murder, yet the other man (who happens to be the victim in this case) gets paid by the government to murder.

Let's not forget the man who will initiate the execution. He gets paid by the government, too.

From the article: Quote: |
In an April 24, 1992 column in The Washington Post, Charles Krauthammer voiced a prevalent argument against the death penalty — the lack of available statistics to verify deterrence. He wrote: "If capital punishment could be demonstrated to deter murder, I might be persuaded...But there is no convincing evidence that the death penalty deters."
| So it can't be proven that the death penalty does any good?
