Would you give up Nationalism for world peace?
If we truly want a planet where peace is the norm. Then all borders would have to be done away with and the whole globe would have to be one economy. My questions is.How would this be accomplished?I think there are so many different scenarios that would work.Trouble is,finding the right one. But,it all begins with doing away with Nationalities.I think religions would not have to be done away with. But,the intolerances from them would.
I'm also not talking about anything like the tri-lateral commission or any other so-called plot for world domination. This would be a truly democratic and fairly run world government.I think more on the terms of a CEO than president. If someone is doing a good job then why replace them?

If I was Mexico or Haiti, I'd say yes. But since every country would want a piece of what we have, I'd have to say no.

right now i think there are too many differences between countries for this to work. As Chuckiechan hinted at, the wealth of the United States and Europe would essentially dissolve around the world. This sounds all well and good but the problem is that there are just too many poor countries out there for our wealth to help...essentially the entire world would become poor. Now it might be possible to do this a step at a time...start out with just the Developed countries and start adding undeveloped countries slowly so we can help them more effectively. of course then that raises the question of which countries to help, also there would still be other countries in existence so they might (and if it's the middle east, the most definitely would), view it as imperialism, not an effort in world peace and not agree to it.

We are already giving out somewhere near 12 Billion in foreign aid. It's hard to get socialist countries to become productive enough to send money outside their boarders. They spend their wealth at home, on themselves - screw the poor!

| To put that in perspective, we're spending about five billion a month, or 60 billion a year, in Iraq alone, and that's nowhere near enough. Bremer has said it'll take tens of billions to restore the country to working condition. And that's just fixing what we broke, not "foreign aid." Twelve billion a year worldwide -- most of which goes to Israel, Egypt and Pakistan -- is peanuts.

I wonder how much of Iraq's money we are using? I know we are selling some of their resources like the mountains of sulfur in some of their refineries to pay for Iraq's rebuilding. That doesn't make news so you don't hear of it as much. We just hear this number that Theophylact stated for shock value without hearing where the money comes from and how much of it actually is from the US given as aid.
60% of aid given to other nations comes from the US.

It's human nature that people set boundaries to differ one person from another, be it looks, color, religion, etc... so the my answer would be No.

If it meant world peace and being able to improve life for all, then sure.
