Goodbye MP3's!!
I just got introduced to the coolest thing to hit me since the microwave!
INTERNET RADIO!
This stuff is awsome!
If you have Windows Media Player 9 it makes it even easier. U just click radio tuner, type what genre you want, choose station, and BAM! your listening!
It's like listening to an endless stream of mp3's instantly, endlessly, and most importatnly, LEGALLY!
the choiceradio.com stations are some of the best. Also Radio*genre* (Like RadioROCK and RadioCLASSIC) are also good, but I sometimes get a clicking noise in my speakers when I listen to them.
I live in California so I dont see much culture from the outside nations. I can listen to radio stations in London, China, ANYWHERE! It's awsome.
There is one station called the basement that not only comes in the form of audio, but VIDEO TOO! That is right, watch the video along with the music. Also, I get to listen to AUSies TALK! hehe so funny.
The only thing that could make internet radio better, is higher quality tunes. Most station are 96kbit/s, which doesn't make since to me. You either have 56k, or REALLY high broadband like 1500kb/s . Not many people have things inbetween. I think they should make the stations at least 128k/s-300k/s. 1 station I found is 1400k/s and taht is my ceiling. The music cuts every now and then because my limit is being reached. But when you think about how far the internet has comes. 1400k/s sound quality streaming to your speakers is the coolest thing since Sliced Bread.
Thx for reading.

I can't stand any radio...that's why I have CDs and MP3s
They can't up the birate to that ... they already have bandwidth problems ... doubling the output will make it much worse.

I was a fan of internet radio last year. Once the RIAA started putting pressure on the P2P services, my favorite radio station (Yahoo Launchcast) went down the tubes. |

Be careful doing this at work, because they are paying for the bandwidth (I think) to constantly stream audio and/or video to your computer.

Oh, you mean be careful if you have a internet connection where you pay for how much you download.
I thought you meant that by me listening the station I was gonna get a bill at the end of the month..

Streaming radio doesn't consume all that much bandwidth, since it's not transmitted in packets with error correction and all that stuff you need with data.
