Appendicitis

I know this isn't an earth shaking ponderance but:

When I was growing up in the early/late 60's it seemed like you would hear of someone having an appendicitis on a weekly basis.

Now it has dawned on me (must be really bored) that I can't recall the last time I've heard of someone having one.

Is this just my imagination or has something changed?

I haven't heard of it much. There were two guys in my barracks at college that both had Appendicitis. One was caught quickly by our infirmary and the other was told to take some pepto and go back to his room. The second one broke the rules and went to an off-campus emergency room and got treatment just in time.

I also happen to remember a basketball or baseball player having his appendix out recently.

But, I agree. It seems like the instances of this problem are declining.
