My Grandmother

I'm not much of a praying person myself. Not because of disbelief or anything like that, but I don't want this to become a religious debate.

My grandmother is in the hospital. She has multiple sclerosis, and this morning they took her to the hospital with pneumonia, a bad bladder infection, a temperature of 104 degrees, and a very low potassium level. Since going in, her temperature has gone down...

This is probably nothing. She's always been a fighter. She used to say, "I may have MS, but MS doesn't have me." She'll probably come out of this just fine. But I lost my grandfather in April and having her get sick has me terrified. I can't lose her too.

The hardest part for me is that I'm in Texas and she's in WV. There's a good 1300 miles between us and I can't go to her when she's sick and scared.

I've seen a few people on TIMO come to you as a community and ask for help. I'd like to do the same. I ask those of you who pray to remember her. As I said, she'll probably be fine, but I'm scared for her.

Thanks, folks. Maybe I just needed to vent too.

Same here, Mntr. Your grandma, and you and your family, are on our prayer list.

Keep us informed on her progress

Cheers

The temp is back down to normal or very close to normal. The pneumonia is moderate, but seems receptive to treatment. Everything else will just take time.

Thanks guys.

Hate to bump an old thread, but I wanted to say that my Grams is out of the hospital. She got to come home today. The only lasting thing is that she'll have to be on potassium replacement for the rest of her life and she's now taking something to build up her bones. Without mobility, bones can pretty much go "soft" from what I understood.

At any rate, she's home and she'll be around for many years to come, we hope. Thanks guys.

That's good new's. Thanks for the update! a little late prayer is better than no prayer at all. and remember, just because alot of people didn't post here, it could be that they are still sending their good wishes. Hello To Grandma from me!!!!

Very good news, Mntr!

Nice to hear someone you've been praying for is doing OK.

Thanks for the update.
