I know one person thats going to be happy. My cousin is joining the Marines in October and our standing joke was he was going to die in North Korea. He wants to go to war, and now he has his chance!

Seriously though North Korea is asking for it. Our boys are going to make the North Koreans wish they had been nuked if they carry on this way.

THe North Koreans are trying to black mail the USA and other countries in the far east using the threat of nuclear weapons. They want aid, for a screwed up economy, for not having nuclear weapons.

Picture this.

A trident sub in the foreground, Soft orange glow of a sunset lighting the open hatches.

Now pan back to see it is actually night with the stark black background and brilliant orange mushroom clouds. Pan back even further to see the caption.

"24 empty silos, a mushroom cloud, it's Miller time"

sorry folks I saw that picture years ago and It was pretty funny.

I do not recommend blowing up NK but I liked the finality of the solution and the appearance of antiseptic cleanliness. I know the reality is not the same as the photo.

My room mate said the same thing. Instead of giving in, why don't we just nuke that country off the face of the earth? If you call the police (the world) and you tell them you have a gun to somebody's head, do you think the cops would give you what or want or take your butt down? Take em down I say!

Shawn If all the people were of a like mind to Kim then I would say it was probably the best solution.

It is an easy solution but the number of innocent lives which would be lost are unacceptable. There are still options including conventional war and or diplomacy. Then it comes down to who is to take action. China is the best candidate IMO. We should be a support partner in any action take there.

Would they try to hit the USA by AIR or WATER?

I don't know much about the mechanics of war but I do know that if they have this technology and it's new and they try to launch something into the air across the water at us it's more than likely going to fly up and drop right back on their heads.

Hell, NASA has a lot of this countries funding and they can't even get a rocket in the air without something backfiring, let along a country putting the majority of their funds into the weapons and not the technology.

Now if they actually had a nuke sub that could actually make it across without being oblitherated itself than thats more of a feasable option for them. But for that 1/3 of my paycheck they take away we'd better have some REALLY goddamn good AIR/WATER Defenses.

It's the countries NEXT to North Korea that should be worried, not the US. If it backfires on NK than it's the other countries that may pay the price of bootleg-ghettotech.

If my logic is flawed correct me, if not thats my opinion till corrected.

One of the major problems with NK is China's relationship with them. It is a dangerous combination. I believe I saw a report on the news about the missiles that NK has and their ability to reach the US. The west 1/4 of the US would be w/in range, provided the NKans launched the missile correctly.

Thats the thing.

If they CAN get the off the ground, thru the air, across the ocean, without being blown up mid flight then yeah, they have a chance at hitting us.

But I mean, with so many variables I seriously doubt they'd actually hit us. But then again I could just have too much faith in the US government and not enough in others.
