Doing it in the BUFF (with pics)

I finally had my first flight in the BUFF (big ugly fat ... fellow) yesterday. The BUFF is it's nickname, but most of you know it as the B-52.

Here is my station:

I am a navigator. I direct the plane's course and ensure we reach our destinations on time. I also do some light bombing.

Here is one of ours landing in the BUFF. I wish it was a pic of our first landing, but we were landing at night after our 7.2 hour sortie. We did 14 touch and gos. Brutal.


By December, I'll actually be done with training. Yippie!!!

Your occupation says "student". I assume that means that you are under the age of 29. If so, then you can do this, provided you are not a felon and have better than 20/200 vision. Well, there are a few other hoops to jump through, but those are the first ones to look at. One of the navigators in my class went to UofI. Or was it IofU. One is Indiana and one is Illinois. Anyway, we had one of each in our class. 1 IU and 1 UI. We had a class of 5.

lol Actually, My vision is just under the waiverable limit. Check out the glasses on the guy to the right (me). 20/100 in the left and 20/200 in the right.
