Doing a burnout

This has turned into an art for some of my friends. Burnout making your tires spin with out moving the car. On my moms 1995 jeep auto the only way is to rev it in nutrul and kick it in to drive. Have you ever?

Have I ever? Doing a burnout in my old '72 V8 Vega was a daily occurance. The longest one I ever did was about 150 feet in length. It took quite a long time for the smoke to clear.

One day when my friends and I were working on my camino's brakes we had the frount ones off and decided to smoke the hell out of these old tires that happened to fit on my back wheels. We caught them in fire twice.

Doing neutral drops like that are the best way to insure a short life for your mom's transmission.
Burn-outs in general are about the worst thing you can do to your car's driveline. It puts a massive amount of stress on the axle, differential, and transmission.

That said, I used to pull some doozies with my old MustangII, with a 302, 4speed manual tras, and 3:1 posi rear end. With a car that light behind a torquee V8, and low-ratio rear end, I could smoke them for blocks (litterally). Of course, I shredded about one transmission input shaft every year...

I went to a burnout contest awhile back (I didn't join in, my car was a pooch )
Massive rubber was burnt that night.. and not exactly a smell you want to spray in your living room either

Get a few folks to hold the sides of the car so it won't move side to side.. and let her rip!

In my 72 Chevelle, burnouts happened by accident.
