Kids What food(s) should I cook in my steamer???

It’s Monday I’m soooooo happy!!!

So I bought a new steamer/rice cooker last night and my first meal was 2 lbs of snow crab legs—delectable treat if I do say so myself—YUMMY!

Now I’m wondering what else I should steam up for lunch/dinner? So I turn to you, my “know it all” friends…what do you suggest I throw on the ol’ steamer? I’ll take any/all suggestions as always…recipes are fine as well!

Thanks guys!
Mike

omg .. crab legs ..**mmm** to DIE FOR!

Vegetables, Mike, throw your veggies in there.

As you already know, shellfish, and you can steam most any kind of fish I can think of....

Steam veggies not too long; just enough to take away rawness but still keep flavor and a bit of snap, yes? Depending on size of veggie and cut.

YumYum

Watch the cholesterol!

Steamed vegetables with parmesan cheese sprinkled on top is pretty good.

Thanks for the suggestions guys...one more question. The directions say to place vegetables in a heat proof dish before placing them in the steamer. What the heck is considered a "heat proof" dish? Can't I just place them directly on the steam rack?

You can steam almost any raw natural ingredient you can think of with GREAT results---key is dont overcook---
(you can save and use the steaming liquid to enhance furthur recipes)
