Disc Golfers in here?

I'm not a big sports person but I do love a good game of Disc Golf

Anybody else here?
I know there's at least 2 or 3

An article in Business week

Northern VA has a yahoo group and they do a lot of volunteer work on the local courses and spreading the good word...

I suck at playing but its a fun game and NOWHERE near as expensive as normal golf
I play for free at the local county park

Kinda weird...to me, a frisbee is used for ----- ULTIMATE FRISBEE...YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA love it

The game Mahon is playing is actually disc golf, where colorful plastic discs similar to Frisbees

I always thought they were just the cheap kind of frisbees you buy for your kid

haha nah, Golf Discs are pretty heavy weight... hurt like a @)(#* to play frisbee with lol

There's a course Bluemont over there in Arlington .. 9 hole.. they just poured Concrete tees for it not long ago
Never played it but would like to sometime. Maybe go in before work or something.

I love Disc (Frisbee) Golf!! Don't get to play it near as much as I would like though...I know there's other golfers in this area but I've yet to find out where they have their meetings! lol.

That and my friends that introduced me to it live about 2 hours away in St. Louis. Doh.

The local University has a couple courses on it...not the traditonal courses with the baskets and such but more like:

"You see the 4th light post down there?"
<Counts lightposts> "Ya?"
"Ok...that's the hole. Par 3"

So lemme know if any of you disc golfers will be in Southeast Missouri and we'll play a round or two!

Btw...what kind of discs do you currently use? I'm not into it hardcore (yet) as I don't get to play as much as I would like, but I currently have 2 discs, a Shark all-purpose driver (174g) and a Viper very-long-range driver (180g).

Also...there's a ritual here that you play Frisbee Golf in the wee hours of the morning. lol. I have yet to ever play in daylight! It's always been from around 11pm-3am. I think part of that is because 1) It's late at night, less students to interupt game play 2)It's late at night, not nearly as hot and 3)It's something to do after the bars close before ya drive home. lol.
