If there are digital cams that can do that, I am unfamiliar with them...

I know the first two were shot with (probably) 35mm cams, using what's called a "macro lens", or perhaps a magnifier tube between the lens and the camera body (changes the focusing of the lens).

SLR (film) cameras boast a huge range of different lens options, plus accessories to alter the properties of those lenses.

The (consumer-grade) digi-cams I have seen are capable of nice digital "snapshots", but it ain't like you can overclock what they do. They are incredibly limited, IMO.

I'm with Knot on this one. I haven't seen a digital camera that could take pictures that clearly.
Even if they exist, do you what the price tag would be on one of those?

I've seen digital cameras that can take pics like these.
But they have been in the range of $15000-25000.

We are talking 10-15mpix

Well once i get a "real" job i will happily drop a grand for a good camera. I had always thought that digitals were the best?

And yes those pics where in a "macro" category on a site. I didnt know what macro was though lol
