Should we use sheep and Cattle as mine sweepers?

I was watching some guys removing mines in Afganistan. They said they were going to be there 10 years. Cambodia, Loas, Vietnam, same story!

Why do we buckle down to the animal rights people and refuse to let livestock "find" the mines? Of course you call still eat the unfortunate animal (keep a magnet handy, of course). Sure a lot faster and safer than using real people to do it.

A cow is expensive and inefficient.

It is rather cruel, also, to willy nilly sacrifice animals to some mine.

It's like testing out a new bullet for the military by shooting livestock.

Women and children and farmers are getting limbs blown off. Are they less important than the animals?

they should design robotic devices to do the trampling across the ground to set them off. not animals nor people.

What do we do now, as in today. The future isn't here yet.

We have plenty of extra live stock we can send over as volunteers...

Roll those annoying 5Kg Exersize balls around... or have 2 people stand at opposite sides and play tennis or horse shoes... We currently use robots in a lot of situations... I would have more fun throwing things personally...

Sure why the heck not. Just fire up a few bar-b-ques and have a big cookout afterwards.
