Systems calling all TIMO cat folks

i remember seeing a thread about this same subject a while back, but cannot find it,so i m gonna start anew.

our newest feline(frankie) is throwing up almost every time he comes in from outside. he almost always eats right after he comes in then gets sick a short while afterwards. we forced down him some hairball medicine tonite, and he promptly threw it up,along with whatever else he had in him.

i seem to remember something in the other thread about a cat throwing up because it ate too fast.

i dont see any worms in the stuff, and he seems lively and playful.same ol` frankie, except for this spewing thingy.

he just cost us 58 bucks for an abscess on his back,so we are attempting to avoid another costly vet bill.

thanks, one and all. anyone remember that other thread??

Without a stool sample test. there's not much you can find out.
Keep him inside, like in the kitcken with a big bowl of water so he doesn't get dehydrated. If not better in the morning , I would carry him back to the Vet. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Hoping he gets better soon.

Here I am!

Ok, I strongly suggest you get him to a vet as soon as you can. With this heat, that could harm your kitty. I always reccomend keeping a cat indoors, especially when living in a city. Make sure the cat gets plenty of water in the meantime. You can try calling your vet, and see if they can suggest anything.

Keep us informed as to the kitty's progress.

My cat infrequently will attempt to wake me up for food if im not up early enough---she will then proceed to eat grass and present it to me barfed on the floor as I get up---then I feed her and she dont get outside before she launches that up due to the leftover grass load---maybe your new cat is still acclimating to regular/different food and a new family invironment...

It sounds like the food is too rich. Try buying some dry food and try that. Kinda like being a starving human drinking a Pepsi!

if there was something chronically wrong...would the cat be playful and active still? id expect it to be lethargic??

Some cats like to eat grass....unforetunately it is very difficult to digest and sometimes causes them to hack.

Check to see if grass is being eaten when going outside...

The funny part of them eating grass is, they get it because they have an upset tummy. Something in the grass aids them in bringing up the stomach contents easier.
