Yeeesh...tough call, Pickel. It took me a LONG time to get it through my head that one of the prices we pay for the INCREDIBLE Constitution we live by is that every so often somebody is going to abuse those freedoms. Every so often, somebody is gonna spit on the flag and then demand Due Process of Law.

And we jump up and down in our vexation, and at times like that, we can lose sight of how big this place is, and the incredible freedom it can support.

Although, what troubles me most with this LATEST example is the thought that he may have been shooting at our G.I.'s ("Tali-Whackers, heheh...ahem).

Ok now say for instance he is charged for treason...
He goes through 30 appeals or so, and for the next 30 yrs he lives in a prison, NOT IN POPULATION cause he'd get dead real quick...

Yeah sometimes freedom and rights can be a wonderful thing, and I love the fact that we have them. However, sometimes it is a double edged sword...

"Due Process" with this case in particular is quite frustrating...
Right now there is a lot of push to have this guy "not alive"
30 yrs down the road, 85% of america will have forgotten or possibly never even heard that this man was fighting for the opposition during a war and could possibly have killed American soldiers fighting for the very rights he's now hiding under... not many will really be pushing then and it would be quite easy for him to be just left in prison for a long time which quite honestly doesn't give me any warm fuzzies...

"not alive" is a good destination for him in my eyes...

Anyone remember this great epic????? In all fairness to us, the American people and our treasonous Taliban, exile, going from ship to ship, for the remainder of his natural life , never seeing or setting foot upon our great land would satify me and give our justice system a way of dealing with this situation in a fair and decrete method. Just my opinion....other than the yardarm!!!!!
