Me and my lack of spelling ablity

Ok I get yelled and made fun of beacuse I can not spell/type very well. I have ADHD which is a learning disablity. I can not spell very good and have never been able to and probly will never spell very good. So please just stop. I can only take so much.

Sorry if you feel we've been taunting you, U_S. I can't speak for everyone else, but my intent in the recent PM box thread was not to make fun of the spelling of your name, or your spelling in general, but just to have fun.

I apologise of you were offended. I did not deliberately post anything to taunt you about your spelling or try to make you feel bad.

I will also try to ensure I am more careful in future, now you have explained that you feel this way.

That doesn't mean I will not at times provide correct spellings for some of your words, if I feel it is important. But that doesn't mean I am taunting you, it's just to help try to encourage you in future posts.

Please feel free to PM if if you think this needs to be discussed more.

If you are that bothered by the whole thing take steps to work around your problem. Type out your replies in Word and spell check them first for example.

you shouldnt have a problem with spelling after that. and i believe the other problem people have with you is you spam threads just to get that post count up.

I'm not going to beat up anybody for lack of spelling. But I think you'd better learn how to get past the ADHD excuse. Yes, it takes discipline and determination but it can be overcome just like any other problem.

Hi, U_S, Well, our friend Mick didn't mean any harm, we know him well enough to know.

As far as the spelling thing, I got lucky in that department, it's easy for me. I have also heard that book reading helps (I read a LOT, always have) but I also know folks right here who are voracious readers, who also are lacking in spelling/punctuation skills. So I don't know WHY...

But I think you'd better learn how to get past the ADHD excuse. Yes, it takes discipline and determination but it can be overcome just like any other problem.

The good news is, it's not the issue nowadays it used to be before computers; specifically, with the spelling correction programs available, anybody can write beautifully spelled and punctuated stuff, if they would just care enough to use it. 'K?
