Car Power window changes...

Anyone seen the stories about power windows?

There have been kids killed by choking due to the windows rolling up on them...

(I am going to get slamed for this I can already see)

Ok, I have seen mothers talking about how unsafe they are because they killed their child..... BUT......you can't blame it on the power windows...
You CAN say that its the parent's fault for leaving the child alone in the vehicle in the first place. or lock the freakin window.

Why is it when something bad happens, people blame it on something other than their stupidity??

Granted its sad what happened to the innocent, but don't try to blame it on the car manufacturers...

I CANNOT STAND people that act this way... you know.... people that think the world owes them......

the stupid thing is that I have yet to see ant vehicle that the windows work at all without the ignition being in the run position. They shouldn't even work in the ACC postition. That leaves only one person to blame IMO

Cruez... it does not take long for someone to strangle to death.

The problem with the design is that anyone who leans out a window can also lean on the switch... and once they start choking they cannot lean off of it. Nor can the switch be over-ridden by the master switch.

It is not like they are going to get rid of power windows... they are just making a simple design change to the switches. No big deal.

My parents '94 Taurus has a window lock switch which only allows the driver to open and close the windows when the switch is engaged. I'm surprised more cars don't have this feature. (I might be mistaken on that though, as my parents car isn't new at all.)

It took a long time for manufacturers to go to an Auto-up feature. Even then, they restricted it to the driver window. I was suprised when the feature was added around the passenger compartment.
Sad.
