I hate credit card companies!!!!!!
Now im seriously stressed.
Im put in authorization to transfer balances to my other card because they give me better rates because my other card they changed my rates from fix to variable. Why I don't know they wouldn't give me answer when I called and asked for my old rates back. Well they wouldn't give my old rates back which were 7.99f. They had jacked it up clear to 19.oddnumber with a varible. I always thought that if its fixed they can't change your account APR's? I was pissed when I saw this and immediately called. They wouldn't appease me at all. So I said fine, and called my other bank card and they is a better bank. So i put in authoirzation to that card to take my balances from the crappy no appeasing me bank.

I called last week to make sure payment request was made right. They said request was made. Okay all fine so far right?

Now i don't know cuz now..............................

Today I get a notification from the crappy bank im trying to get out of just recently did a company change and they said they are transfering all balances to my new card with a new account number and that is not the half of it. they again jacked up the rates to 21.49. Cripes! that is 300 percent increase.

My my stress is now that the old crappy bank has issued me a new account number what is going to happen with my balance transfer too my good bank?

So im calling my good bank today to discuss it with them and to ensrue they get the tranfer and so the crappy bank can get the payment so I can close my freaking account!

I want it closed closed closed closed. **thorwing a major tizzy*** Cripes. I can't believe they pulled this crap. Wonder how many customers they are going to loose now. 1 for sure and that is me.

I had been with this crappy bank for over 4 years with an APR of 7.99 consistantly and now they pull this crap on me.

One thing I really like about my good bank one is they have supierour customer service for me. Meaning that its easy to reach them. No waiting in lines no calling through relay. I get to them directly via tty to tty in a matter of a few minutes. No waiting on hold or nothing.

the old crappy bank had (noticed past tense) a tty line. but when it answers it says, im sorry we no longer accept tty calls you must hang up and dial relay 711 then dial our voice 800 number.

Meaning that it takes 10 times as long for me to get through. Stupid bank. I'll be happy to get rid of them and won't rest till I see everything is back in order.

Not only that they have closed down all online account access and you have to reregister with the new company to get online access. Not gonna do that cuz im calling my good bankcard adn get advise from them to what to do.

/end rant

Thanks for letting me blow steam. i get really impatiences with bills if something is out of wack or im not getting what I deserve. Instead they are trying to screw the hell outta me and it ain't a going to work with me.

If you can't say anything nice...

Good luck with all that Neo. I used to do business with X.com. They were an online bank with credit/debit cards and everything. I even had my paycheck direct deposited to my account with them. Then they bought PayPal (and still currently own it I believe) and closed out their banking division. Thusly I was left with nothing but a check for $.13. Not quite as crappy as what they're pulling on you, but ya, banks can do some pretty cracked things to make money. And usually at the expense of account holders. Now I only work with credit unions. Not that they're much better, but at least they tell you when they're going to stab you in the back before they do it.

Sorry, Neo, but I've noticed a trend toward this sort of thing, and not only by banks. (btw, I'm assuming you were on time with payments? Because that's their main excuse for jacking your rates, and it's in the fine print of the contract you signed.)

Anyway, the crappy bank is just cranking you, figuring you won't have the energy and patience to prevent this... so if they can keep you at this high rate for X amount of time, they can at least grab a few extra bucks of interest before you finally succeed at scraping 'em off.

May not be much, but when you multiply it by 1000's of customer/suckers, it's really very lucrative!

Good luck in closing the credit card account. We just finalised a card (to consolidate all our savings into one bank), and rang for a pay out figure. We tend to pay the balance each month, but they tend to add charges in the next cycle.

So we did the right thing, and asked for a payout figure. No worries. We paid it.

Get the statement end of month, and there's a $0.15 fee in it. What? Call bank. Oh, that is a blah, blah, blah fee. You can disregard that. Fine, we said.

The next month - a $2.30 fee!! They applied "overdrawn" fees and "interest" on the $0.15!!!! Arrgh!!.

So we sent a cheque for $0.15 along with our lawyer's number. Haven't heard anything back yet.

Good luck Neo. The banking machine is too impersonal and too unwieldy, IMO.

Cheers
Mick

thanks for sharing all your stories.

Yes I always been on time with my card payments. That is one thing I am a fickler for. I have exellent credit mainly because I use the card limitedly so I can build my credit. I have an ulterior motive for having credit cards. To gain credit and good credit score so when the day comes to buy a house they can't say I don't have any credit or no credit or bad credit.

But golly i'll be darned if they are gonna jack my rates up.

Well talk to tony about it today and he said heres lunch and a drink to and to chill out for the weekend and call monday cuz if you call today you gonna end up not being such a nice girl at all.

So i listened to him and will wait till I have chilled out over weekend and then talk about it to the card company in a calm manner.

Thanks for letting me rant.
