"The controversy over the monument stems from a lawsuit filed in October 2001 by three organizations on behalf of three Alabama lawyers who often had business at the judicial building and said the monument offended them. "
It offends me that this is removed, I think I will file suit.
"It offends me" is a poor excuse to use for filing a lawsuit. How does it offend them? This term is too vague and abused in the legal system.
I applaud this judge for standing strong with is belief in God,more people should be like him.

I don't quite understand the comparison between Moore and "segregationist Southern governors of the past"...
While we're at it, lets remove "In God We Trust" from our currency and any reference of God in our government laws and literature
I aplaud him, although he's fighting a loosing battle.

| I stand with mad on this one, just saying "it offends me" is a poor excuse to file a law suit. It offends me that those lawyers are trying to impose their religious beliefs {or non-religious beliefs} on us. This country has become a warzone of frivolous law suits and it's only gonna get worse. Just my 2¢ worth.

| How familiar with the case are you Wart?
A judge ought to know better... lock him up, bread and water =) He'll have plenty of time to spend with his God!

It depends on the context of "the monument offended them". If they just didn't like it then tough. Everyone has different tastes. If they didn't like it because it represented a breakdown in the separation of church and state then they are completely justified in their lawsuit.
