Do you want them to find WMD in Iraq?

Some people are angry that no weapons of mass destruction have been found in Iraq yet because it shows that Bush is just a nut but I for one am happy that no weapons were found. If they found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, why would anybody be happy about that? It shows Bush was right but it always shows that the enemy had the bomb, isn't that a BAD thing? We should really drop our pride and just be happy that we are safe and not in a cold war type situation.

Doesn't anybody else feel the same?

Kids

On one hand I'm glad, too, that such weapons are obviously not as easy to come by as some would have us believe. But part of me wishes they'd find something of substance just so we don't look like idiots to the rest of the world. I guess it's one of those no-win situations.

Good question, though.

It is good and bad. It is good that WMD do not exist there. But it is also bad as it points out that the propaganda campaign that Bush exposed the American people to before the war, which convinced 75% of the people to support the war that proved to be at the most, needless - or at least not urgent.

As I said in March 2003, "Bush asks the American people to blindly trust his assertions (e.g. link between al-Qaeda and Iraq, Iraq is a threat to the U.S., etc.) No president deserves blind faith. Morever, when one dives into evidence, his words come up hollow. The evidence (from the CIA) shows that there is no Iraq-al Qaeda link. Any critical thinker can clearly see that Iraq is no threat to the mighty U.S. and there is no motive to attack the U.S.

Additionally, I have presented links in this thread showing how his father misled the American people with false evidence to win public support of Gulf War I. Since the same people, such as Chenny and Rumsfeld were in both administrations, it is hard to beleive that they changed their ways.

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me."

I am more worried every day that goes by without the known WMD turning up. Thats what has me scared. Those WMD are known because we sold them to Saddam. But now we can't find them.

Seems to me that the problem has three solutions: They are very well hid. They have been destroyed. They have been moved out of Iraq. (Or a little of all three).

Which ever one is found to be the solution, there will always be the doubt, nagging at this issue: Did we find them all?

Finally, as to whether or not I want to find the WMD: YES!!! (Just to get them off the open market for starters).

We sold chemical weapons to Saddam and he used them all up during Iran-Iraq war. Now we blame him for using them.

I don't really want any WMDs to be found, I never really trusted Bush's original assertions that Iraq had WMDs in the first place. Finding WMDs would just add more gas to the fire. Think of it kinda like Bush getting all excited and getting in your face and shouting "See? I told you so, I told you so. Now North Korea's turn, then Cuba, then...." You get the point.

If there are any WMDs, they're most likely buried in the desert somewhere, where they can't do any damage. Now the only thing to do is to track down all traces of those who know of their whereabouts -- Saddam's henchmen -- and make sure they're never found again.

???

No one is going to be happy if WMD's are found.

Allegations were made, and most people would like to see the evidence. That's what this is all about, most people want to know if a number of countries exaggerated, or lied, or did both, or whether they were talking the truth.

Don't forget that and, in all respect, you won't have to ask such a question.

i don't care if they find them or not...i mean come on let's admit that's not the real reason we went to war. saddam was an evil man that fueled the "americans are evil let's kill them" mentality and also killed thousands of his own people and thus needed to be taken out of power. we tried diplomacy and it didn't work. unfortunately the reason "cause we just should" doesn't go over very well with a lot of people so Bush tried to give us some concrete examples. so they didn't work, they were just pr things meant to get support, they weren't the real reasons we went.

I don't totally support the way Bush conducted this war, and i think some precedents were set that shouldn't have been. i think that some other people could have done a much better job from the political side...but i supported the US taking hussein out of power because it needed to be done and no one else was going to do it.
