I have a hard copy of the book, first edition from 1912, sitting here in front of me. Very interesting read. It's on loan to me. The pictures are awesome.

Fascinating, Dave! Notice the "white" cover, it looks as though it may be the inside title page...man, they sure made books, then.

I wish the web page you shared had more info about the actual publication and history of the book itself (imagine, a history of a History, heh heh... ).
