Hairspray?

Does anybody know anything about hairspray? I've been using it for a couple'a years, so I don't have to comb it much.

Anyway, I'm noticing that if I get some on my glasses, it's there for good! Water, soap and water, even shampoo won't get it off!

So what does this stuff do to my noggin? I'm starting to think I'm slowly building up a coat of Shellac on my scalp! Which can NOT be a good thing.

The one I have now is called "White Rain" and it does this. Also, Cendy uses "VO5 Hairspray" for her hair, I tried that, and I had the Hair O' Death all day. Yuk!

I'd like to continue using it, but I'm starting to think I'm gonna do damage to my scalp and (remaining) hair roots. Help!

I used to use hairspray since my hair is so thin but someone told me that it burns your hair. Not sure what's in there. I stopped using it and grew my hair long so I can keep it in a ponytail. If your glasses have real glass then maybe a little naptha might remove the stuff.

Knot, I wonder if it's a case of the spray having some sort fo chemical reaction with your lenses? After all, most lenses these days have an anti-scratch coating or are made of polycarbonate. They usually aren't just plain glass. That could be the cause

C'mon Knot, you should know better than to spray hairspray on whilst wearing your glasses. That's like brushing your teeth after you put on your tie; it's guaranteed to lead to disaster.

I remove my watch and ring so as not to coat them. And I use just the slightest bit of spray to keep my ridiculously fine hair from flying around while I walk.

I forgot to mention that this stuff makes my hair feel weird, not soft. Even the next day, it doesn't feel natural.

Maybe someone knows of a brand that doesn't create this effect?

What about using a gel? I use this stuff called pomade and it works great; no plasticky feel. Of course, it's expensive, but my friend used to work in a salon

Actually Knot, you answered your own question!

Shellac!

Once every 6 weeks is all it takes!

I don't use anything on my hair, other than shampoo! I have extremely fine hair, receding tho, and just keep it cut short.

I haven't used hairspray since I had an Afro back in the 70's!

Harder

That was my option too.No more hairspray for me.

Besides Knot isn't it a statement for the artist to have a nice ponytail?

Shucks I'm all for it
