could you recognize someone you have never met before?

if you met someone, could you tell who they are in 10 seconds or less if you never spoke with them before? let's say you spoke to them a few times and they spoke back. could you tell them apart in a crowd where everyone looks the same instantly? people tend to look the same to me unless i have spoken with them before extensively like longer than 10 minutes. what if the person changed their clothes and appearance? could you still tell who they are? what if they once dressed up as someone's grandmother or twisted their hair in knots? wild idea, huh? thanks for listening to me ramble.

It depends how much i like the person, and what we talked about during those 10 minutes. and if it was a chick or guy........

I find that a lot of people remember me, yet i remeber so few of them.

Depends on the person.I can usually remember a face, but to put a name with it sometimes is hard.
Of course there are those who stand out in your mind.

Like Bobcat Goldthwait(sp??)

Let me get this straight. You want me to recognise someone I've never met before?

I have trouble recognising the face in the mirror!

The only way I might identify someone as someone I had only ever interacted online with, for example, is by something they said that only that person would have a knowledge of. Like, a PM joke we shared, or something.

If you mean have only rarely met, or only ever met once, then I would not easily recognise them again by sight. Maybe by what they said, but not by sight. I ain't that good at remembering physical details of a person.

Basically, I'm clueless!

Cheers
Mick

No way I could do it. I forget people that I've had two hour conversations with.

Like this Mick guy? He's always around but I have no idea who he is.

Interesting idea, Hickman, but it almost begs the question, why do you ask?

Hard to understand the nature of your question in a critical sense.
