This is hardly unexpected, but it nauseates me anyway. What a crock.

But it's big news in Canada.

I don't know if it nauseates me, but I am sure the film will. I think the story is a good one I mean the rescue of an American POW would always make a good story. On the other hand I am quite sure this movie will take the same tone as one of those specials about the olympic athletes they show for 20 minutes before 2 minutes of olympic action, then cut again to another 20 minute human interest spot, the 2 minutes more action, then 20... well you get the idea and those are truely nauseating.

The problem is that there were many heroic acts committed in Iraq that are far more worthy of this kind of attention. Lynch was riding in a Humvee that rear-ended another vehicle at the very start of the ambush. She was thrown against the interior of the vehicle and sustained serious injuries which left her unconscious. She awoke in an Iraqi hospital where she stayed until she was "rescued" by US troops. Not a whole lot of choice on her part in any of it. No act of heroism that I can see. Nonetheless, she was awarded the Bronze Star and given a hero's welcome when she got home. Now there's going to be a movie about her glorifying the whole ridiculous affair.

That's the problem.

No, I don't care who plays her. But I did miss that interesting bit of irony. Funny.
